Schurz Butter/Sugar Cookies

1 lb. butter or margarine, softened
½ C. sugar
Few grains of salt
1 t. vanilla
2 ½ C. flour, more or less*
Sugar for rolling

Beat butter til creamy, add sugar and salt. Blend in vanilla and flour. Roll dough into balls and roll in sugar, press down on ball with a fork dipped in sugar to flatten. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350° til brown around edges (about 10-12 minutes)

* use a cheap brand of flour so it is courser'
